Cairns Break Aways Bunch Ride

Come join the Knights Of Suburbia – Cairns, Barrier Reef Breakaways on their regular Saturday morning no drop – coffee stop – social roll.

Depart at 6.15 am from Funship Playground carpark, northern end of The Esplanade Cairns. We head north very briefly along the Captain Cook Highway before turning left out along Kamerunga Road, passing canefields and the iconic Freshwater Train Station to the Red Beret Hotel at Redlynch.

The first 10 km are very flat, enabling riders to warm up their legs. We then meander out through the Redlynch Valley, passing equestrian fields and on to the lush rainforest and pristine waters of Crystal Cascades. This section does feature a few undulations but nothing too harsh. There are toilet facilities at Crystal Cascades and also an opportunity to refill water bottles if needed. We then return to the Esplanade via the same route.

The average speed expected 25km/hr.

Coffee stop will be back along the Esplanade hopefully by about 8.00 am. We can slip down the bike path to the iconic Muddy’s cafe overlooking the Coral Sea.

Come roll with us. Newcomers are always welcome.

Lastly, before you hit the road, group rides are not without risk. By participating in our bunch rides you agree to our liability waiver: https://knightsofsuburbia.com/liability-waiver/
